Things People Forget to Tell You After Stopping The Pill

As a 24 year old with no serious relationship, I’m talking I can’t even commit to a lipstick, it’s vital that I am being safe. Upon doing my research for my upcoming gyno-dino appointment I ran across a study that Mary Jane Minkin, MD of Yale University of Medicine published about the things that happen to you and your body once you stop taking the pill. Whether you stop for medical reasons or personal reasons here are 11 reactions that you may not want to forget about.

1. If you had heaving bleeding before it will come back Carrie style.

2. Sex will be your number one priority. You’ll like, you’ll love it, you’ll want some more of it.

3. Swollen and tender will be the new names of the twins on your chest.

4. Water weight will be nothing compared to the bloating you feel the week of your cycle.

5. The pill stops your body from ovulation, so when you stop popping, the ovulation and the cramps come back with it.

6. Your skin will be pretty pissed and show it with pimples and redness for a while.

7. Your menstral cramps will return or worsen. YAY!

8. You might want to download that period tracking app since your regularity gets thrown out the window.

9. Warm your significant other because your mood will be a roller coaster ride for a while.

10. You may be more susceptible to develop fibroids, a kind of tumor that grows in and around the walls of the uterus.

11. Last but maybe most importantly, pregnancy becomes a possibility immediately.

No matter what your preferred form of birth control, it’s important to be prepared. Taking care of your body and it’s safety is top priority. Although I have my life together about 75% of the time, I am clearly no medical professional so always remember to do your research and talk to your doctor about any questions you may have.
