Any excuse to turn a childhood southern favorite into an adult snack is my favorite kind of excuse. I remember loving this as a little girl so finding this recipe on Tastemade made my entire life.
Matcha is a super food that increases energy, boost concentration, lowers cholesterol, enhances mood, detoxifies, boost immune system, and improves skin just to name a few. Many people add it to their morning tea, ice cream, and especially smoothies, but who ever thought of adding it to puppy chow is my new inspiration.
For The Mix:
1 Box Chex Cereal
1/2 Cup Dark Chocolate
1/2 Cup Nutella
2 Tablespoons Butter
1/2 Tablespoon Match
For the Coating:
3/4 Cups Powdered Sugar
1/4 Cup Matcha (or more, for taste)
Let’s Cook, Y’all:
In a double broiler, melt the chocolate chips, Nutella, butter, matcha and salt together. Remove from heat.
In a large bowl, add 1 cup of Chex, followed by ⅓ of the melted chocolate. Repeat until all the cereal and chocolate is layered. Use a spatula to gently coat the cereal in chocolate.
In a large Ziploc bag, add the powdered sugar and matcha. Mix well. Then add the cereal mixture, close the bag securely, and shake to fully coat the cereal.
So easy, so quick, so delicious, sorta good for you. Close your eyes and let the taste take you back to coloring books and swing sets.
