As the new year settles in the first thing to get kicked into high gear is health. But I bet you have never thought about the healthiness, or lack, of the products in your bathroom. I’m a firm believer that what goes on your body should be just as healthy as what you put in it. Actually, I probably put more care into what goes on than in considering I eat chicken nuggets twice a week. (sometimes they’re a need not a want okay!) Try adding these activities into your detox routine to make this new year’s detox complete or just add some benefits to your health overall.
The only way to detox is to remove the toxins from your body. One of the best ways to do that, dry brushing. The lymphatic system carries blood around the body and with those blood cells they also carry toxins. If the lymphatic system gets clogged or slowed down then the toxins build up. Dry brushing promotes movement of the system and helps to move out all those nasties.
I may or may not have bought my current house because the master bath is awesome.
I take more baths than the average person does, or should, but at least I can lie and say it’s all for health reasons. That’s right, epsom salt and baking soda baths are a really good detox tool. For a regular tub, you’ll need two cups of baking soda and epsom salt. This combo helps draw out impurities and toxins in the tissues. It also helps with insomnia, stress, and aching muscles. Soak after workouts or massages to help prevent muscle soreness. Adding to the list of reasons to get in the tub ASAP, epsom salt baths also improve heart and respiratory health, reducing irregular heartbeats and lessing the chance of hardening of the arteries.
So all these toxins are out, so now what? Cleanse that ish off and down the drain. I suggest cleansing your face twice a day with a clean cloth to best rid off all the toxins, bacteria, and set your skin free, but my favorite way to feel like I’m in a spa and to help at the same time is an exfoliation mask. My favorite is Farmhouse Fresh Sand Your Ground Mask. It removes all the dead skin cells without you even having to put in the work. Plus, all the Farmhouse Fresh products smell like heaven if heaven was an all natural bakery in the middle of a field of wildflowers. Aka I want to eat everything.
And for goodness sakes, DRINK WATER.
